GCSE Maths Grade 8/9 Revision Roadmap
Help your child achieve a Grade 8/9 in GCSE Maths.
The difference between a grade 6/7 and a grade 8/9 isn't just ability. It's structured support.
If you'd like more hands-on support for your child in the run-up to GCSEs, I've put together the GCSE Maths Grade 8/9 Revision Roadmap — a focused 6-hour revision course that will both explain and demonstrate what effective revision looks like. This included essential learning that could help empower your child to move from a grade 7 towards a grade 8/9.
Ideal for use anytime from the year 10 Mocks to the Autumn Year 11 Mocks.
Research from the Education Endowment Foundation found that students with actively supportive parents, such as yourself, make 4 months' more progress over a single school year than those without. That's not about being a maths expert. It's about helping your child revise the right things, at the right time. That's exactly what this is designed to do.
I'm Jo Scholten — a Cambridge graduate with more than 20 years' experience teaching and leading maths departments in top-performing Cambridgeshire schools. I've put this revision blueprint together for your child, to demonstrate how to structure an effective revision plan, for a student targeting the top grades.
This Revision Roadmap course works as a standalone course, or as an introduction/taster to my Maths Mastery Programme - a fully comprehensive revision package, that covers the entire GCSE Maths Higher syllabus across 28 structured weekly sessions.
The biggest problem I have seen most capable students run into is that they work hard, but not on the right things. Without a clear structure, revision becomes "do some past papers and hope" — and hope isn't a grade strategy.

I found Jo to be a phenomenal maths tutor for my son. She quickly built trust, understood what he needed and then spent the tutor sessions helping him build his knowledge and confidence in the subject, including how to approach different types of GCSE questions. He enjoyed the sessions, looking forward to each one, and thrived under her mentorship. With Jo’s help, he went on to get a great GCSE results, which enabled him to go on and do the A levels he wanted at the 6th form of choice. Jo is clearly a very skilled tutor and I would thoroughly recommend her.
